Rip audio CDs with names, covers and tags

How to use it
- Insert an audio CD — the track list appears with artist, title, album and length. (Or drop a
.bin/.cueor.isoimage straight onto the screen.) - Names, cover art, year and genre fill in automatically from the online music database; double-click any cell or press F2 to fix a name by hand.
- Pick an output format — FLAC, MP3, M4A, Opus, WAV and more — and click Rip CD.
- Tracks are encoded in parallel as they come off the disc, with tags and the album cover embedded.
Names and covers come to you
The moment a disc is recognised, every track gets its artist, title and album, plus the release year, genre and cover art — all pulled from the MusicBrainz music encyclopedia and embedded into the files' tags. Discs the database doesn't know fall back to the CD-Text stored on the disc itself.
Wrong guess? Double-click any cell to edit it, or right-click and clear the lot. How the files are named is up to you too — naming templates in the settings decide whether you get 01 - Artist - Title or your own pattern.
Built for imperfect discs
A paranoid mode re-reads and error-corrects every sector, which is what you want for a scratched or 25-year-old disc, and the rip speed can be pinned down to 1×–8× — old discs often read more reliably slowly than at full tilt.
Progress is live per track, and the rip keeps running as a background task while you use the rest of the app. When it's done the tray can eject on its own — the universal signal that it's time for the next disc.
Cue sheets, single-file images, and rips without a drive
For archiving, the ripper can write a .cue sheet, or rip the whole disc to a single file plus cue — the layout burning tools and players expect.
No optical drive in your laptop? Drop a .bin/.cue or .iso audio-CD image onto the same screen and its tracks are extracted and converted in parallel, with the same online naming and tagging as a physical disc.
Questions and answers
Do I need internet to rip a CD?
No. Ripping and encoding are fully offline. The internet is only used — if you allow it — to look up track names and cover art, and only compact disc identifiers are sent, never audio. Discs with CD-Text work with no connection at all.
What about scratched or old discs?
Turn on paranoid mode in the CD Rip settings: every sector is re-read and error-corrected instead of being taken on faith. Dropping the rip speed to 1×–4× helps too, and both together rescue most discs that skip in a normal player.
Can I rip without a CD drive?
Yes — drop a .bin/.cue or .iso audio-CD image onto the rip screen and its tracks are converted in parallel to the format you choose, with the same automatic naming, tagging and cover art.
Which formats can I rip to?
Any audio format the converter speaks: FLAC for lossless archiving, MP3, M4A/AAC, Opus, OGG, WAV and more, with tags and cover art embedded where the format supports them.
Does it work on macOS?
On Windows and Linux the app talks to the drive directly. On macOS, audio CDs already appear in Finder as a folder of AIFF files — the rip screen points you there, and dropping those files onto the converter gives you the same formats and tagging.
